Spanish medical interpreter delivering accurate, culturally sensitive language access for healthcare teams.
What I'm looking for
I’m a nationally certified Spanish-English medical translator and medical interpreter with 8+ years of healthcare language-access experience. I’m known for accuracy, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and clear communication across clinical, oncology outreach, dermatology screening, and specialty-care settings.
Since Apr 2017, I’ve served as a Spanish Medical Interpreter at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, facilitating Spanish-English communication for patients with limited English in both in-person and remote encounters. I sight-translate critical documents such as consent forms, discharge instructions, and medical instructions to support patient comprehension, and I proofread, edit, and revise machine-translated clinical documents for terminology, clarity, register, and readability.
Previously, I led community outreach and interpreter operations as a Community Benefits team lead at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Nov 2015–Apr 2019), coordinating statewide events and recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers. I’ve also supported evidence-based programming (including sun safety/skin cancer prevention), maintained statistical databases and inventory records for accurate reporting, and contributed to training and resource development for equitable access to care.
