Laura Carmona
@lauracarmona
I research occupational health, stress, well-being, and PTSD through rigorous evidence synthesis and quantitative analysis.
What I'm looking for
I'm pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Lisbon, investigating risk and protective factors against post-traumatic stress disorder in Portuguese military peacekeepers. My work has produced qualitative, quantitative, systematic-review, and meta-analytic research on PTSD, leadership, and well-being.
As a Research Fellow in collaboration with the General Directorate of National Defense Resources, I co-author technical reports and scientific articles while disseminating project findings. I have also contributed to occupational-health research on firefighters, including leadership-skills development and intervention programmes.
My publications span Military Psychology, the European Journal of Psychotraumatology, Journal of Emergency Management, and Frontiers in Psychology. I regularly present research internationally and received the 2nd Psi-Communication Award for work on PTSD in peacekeepers.
Alongside research, I provide academic consultancy and methodology mentoring for master's dissertations and PhD theses, and serve as an ad hoc reviewer for international and Portuguese scientific journals. I work in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, combining SPSS, NVivo, Jamovi, scientific writing, and intercultural collaboration.
