Help support students in need of additional social emotional/behavioral needs to ensure they make it through the school day successfully. Support teachers in creating plans to help "frequent fliers" stay in the classroom more regularly by using various social/emotional strategies.

Taught ELA and Social Studies under a VT Provisional teaching license. Over two years, taught and managed a total of four classes between 14-17 students. Worked with Special Ed team and parents to implement and update IEP plans. Piloted a new ELA program during year one. Maintained contact with parents on an as-needed basis.

Began as a Title-I funded math paraeducator from the end of Feb. 2022 to the end of that school year in June. Transitioned to a special education paraeducator the following school year. Provided support in math and reading for various students 1:1 or in small groups, both in school and virtually during COVID closures. Substitute taught as needed.

Spent the summer of 2021 teaching children ages 4-5. Supervised daily nap time and outdoor play (indoor if weather was bad.) Daily calendar and weather lessons with added story time. Responsible for state nutritional compliance during snack time, doing all daycare laundry, and cleaning/sanitizing toys and surfaces daily.

Worked the summers of 2018 and 2019 before the camp closed for good. Responsible for camper supervision and behavior management, following state nutritional guidelines at snack time, planning fun activities, and maintain safety while in the sun for extended periods of time.

Responsible for daily cleaning of cat and small animal cages, cat rooms, and occasionally dog cages. Daily feeding of and medication administration for cats and small animals, occasionally dogs. Management of feline URI outbreak in a room of 17 kittens (medication treatment, extra cleaning.) Dog walking and outdoor play supervision occasionally.

Responsible for accepting a posted substitute opportunity each day. Followed classroom teacher's plans for the day while managing classroom expectations. Left notes for classroom teachers regarding how the lessons went and how classroom behaviors were during their absence.

Worked one season as a head baseball coach at the middle school level. Unfortunately, there weren't enough interested students to field a team the following season. Responsibilities included teaching baseball fundamentals, scheduling practices, creating lineups and assigning field positions, equipment management, uniform management, and maintain good sportsmanship among the team.

During the last month+ of the 2016 general election, Joshua worked with RAD-NH canvassing voters door-to-door on behalf of then Governor Maggie Hassan's US Senate campaign. RAD was victorious as she defeated incumbent Senator Kelly Ayotte. The position required vigorous attention to detail as there were copious amounts of data that needed to be kept track of from each face-to-face interaction.

Volunteered for the campaign for two months before being offered a full-time internship. Responsible for door-to-door canvassing with volunteers, phone banking, data entry and management, volunteer management, and going to regional intern trainings. Biggest time of responsibility was during GOTV the weekend and final days before the primary election.

Grade: 3.48

Completed 21/39 credits before un-enrolling due to financial circumstances. As well, completion of this program would not lead to initial teacher licensure which was the overarching goal. Completed studies included the history of schooling, learning theories, classroom management, assessment and evaluation, curriculum development, and child development.

Joshua returned to SNHU to get a second Bachelor's degree, this one in History (American) with a Political Science minor. His primary end goal is to become a middle school history teacher, however, he has enjoyed working younger students at North Charlestown Community School and Hartland Elementary School. He's also considering pursuing high school Civics and/or U.S. History.

Since the age of 11, Joshua knew he wanted to go to SNHU to study Culinary Arts, so 7 years later, that's what he did! After a year, something in him changed, and he ended up changing his major to Graphic Design...and then he wanted to explore other things, so he became a Communication major. That's where he stayed for his last two years and that's the degree he graduated with.
