What I'm looking for

I’m looking to strengthen my impact as a special education teacher by delivering structured, IEP-driven instruction for students with significant cognitive disabilities, focused on data-based progress monitoring and building academic, functional, communication, and life skills.

I’m a Childhood Education and Special Education teacher-in-training (expected graduation Dec. 2025, with honors) and an Extension Program Teacher. I provide specialized instruction to elementary students with significant cognitive disabilities using Extended Content Standards and individualized learning objectives.

In my current role, I develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with measurable goals, accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring. I teach academic, functional, communication, and life skills through structured routines and individualized support.

Before this, I supported lead teachers in preschool through 2nd grade ABA classrooms, helping implement individualized behavior intervention plans and IEP-aligned academic activities. I also completed student teaching in a 1st grade self-contained setting (delivering lessons aligned to IEP goals and NYS standards) and a 4th grade general education setting (planning standards-aligned ELA, math, science, and social studies).
