What I'm looking for

I'm looking to lead and build resilient Android, backend, and connected-device products, especially offline-first systems that solve real field, payments, fintech, telecommunications, or IoT challenges. I value engineering excellence, code quality, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.

I've built Android platforms, backend services, and embedded-device integrations at KOKO Networks, supporting field staff in remote, low-connectivity environments. As the primary Android engineer, I drove technical decisions across applications, firmware integration, ODM collaboration, and backend services.

I designed offline-first Kotlin and Java applications with retry queues, idempotent requests, background sync, REST APIs, MQTT, and on-device diagnostics. I also built Flask APIs, led CircleCI delivery pipelines, published shared Android libraries, and improved app stability to more than 98% crash-free users.

At XOKO, I led an Android POS application with BLE printers, onboard hardware, payment integrations, local transaction persistence, and reliable offline sync. I partnered directly with Sunmi on firmware updates, device SDKs, and hardware compatibility across device variants.

I've also delivered mobile products for Trots Technologies and Kenyan telecoms including Safaricom, Telkom, and JTL, spanning Android, iOS, AR, BLE, M-PESA, and UI development. I enjoy setting technical direction, strengthening code quality, mentoring engineers, and building dependable products used at scale.
