I am a first-generation Latina graduate with a passion for technology and a relentless drive to overcome obstacles. My journey into computer science began later in life, but my determination and love for learning have propelled me forward. With a diverse educational background, including coursework at Normandale Community College and Case Western Reserve University, as well as completion of the Hackbright Academy Full Stack Engineering Bootcamp, I have honed my skills in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Typescript, and SQL/NoSQL, and frameworks like React and Flask.
Currently, as a Software Developer Intern at Bilingual Generation, I am one of the founding engineers working on the 'Bili App,' an innovative project aimed at preserving heritage languages in children. My role involves spearheading key initiatives, such as internationalization and localization, and leveraging technologies like TypeScript, React, and Firebase to deliver a robust and user-centric solution. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in Agile methodologies, version control with Git, and unit testing using Cypress and Jest.
Beyond my technical abilities, I bring strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to making a positive impact. My involvement in organizations like Google Lime Connect and Code the Dream, as well as volunteer work with Latina Dev and Planned Parenthood, showcases my dedication to diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility.
I am excited about the opportunity to bring my unique blend of technical expertise and passion for social impact to a forward-thinking organization. Together, we can create solutions that empower communities and drive positive change on a global scale.
