At Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), I managed international scientific programs, budgets, logistics, and partnerships. As Program Manager, I managed a US$125,000 institutional budget for a program serving 22 postdoctoral fellows and delivered all planned deliverables.
I onboarded eight international fellows into the Resilience Initiative program, with all eight retained throughout its duration. I also delivered 28 consecutive monthly financial reports and led a selection process that reduced time-to-hire by 60 days.
As Lab Manager, I administered Panama's sole government permit for importing and exporting scientific soil samples for 11 years, with zero compliance incidents. I coordinated 72 projects with 97 professionals from 29 countries, supporting work that resulted in more than 100 scientific publications.
I oversaw U.S. federal funds and turned a US$27,401.87 deficit into a US$30,430.43 surplus. I also drafted the MOU for an Audubon Americas–STRI mangrove conservation partnership and supervised and trained technicians and interns.
