Davood Momeni
@davoodmomeni
I build inclusive physics education and advance research in cosmology, gravity, and astrophysics.
What I'm looking for
I'm a Professor of Physics and Pre-Engineering at Northeast Community College, where I teach algebra-based and calculus-based physics, modernize laboratory infrastructure, and mentor STEM students pursuing physics and engineering careers.
I launched a fully online Algebra-Based Physics course using Canvas LMS, PhET Interactive Simulations, multimedia resources, digital data acquisition systems, and modern assessment tools. Previously at Northern Virginia Community College and Marymount University, I taught physics and laboratory courses across online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats.
My academic work spans physics instruction, curriculum development, laboratory design, student advising, and educational leadership across institutions in the United States, Oman, South Africa, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Iran. I’ve guided undergraduate and graduate students in theory, research methods, experimental design, data interpretation, and career planning.
I also conduct research in cosmology, astrophysics, gravitation, and theoretical physics, with publications in Q1-ranked journals and recognition in the Stanford University–Elsevier World's Top 2% Scientists Ranking. I bring together rigorous scientific research and accessible, student-centered STEM learning.
