I’m an Insurance Verification & Prior Authorization professional with 8+ years of experience specializing in sleep medicine, DME, and oxygen. I focus on verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, and keeping treatment moving for patients.

In my most recent lead role, I verified insurance eligibility and obtained prior authorizations for 100+ patient accounts per day, including home sleep studies, PAP equipment and supplies, and oxygen therapy. I entered information into Brightree and worked across PPOs, HMOs, EPOs, POS, Care Centrix, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. I also managed appeals for denied authorizations and educated patients on deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and financial responsibility.

I’m a proven leader who trains and mentors new employees while developing department training materials and workflow documentation. I ran multiple audit reports daily to ensure benefits and authorizations were in place before appointments, and I contributed to management meetings to improve processes for the best outcome for patients and the company.

Before focusing on authorizations, I built a strong clinical foundation as a Medical Assistant in front and back office settings, including phlebotomy, high-complexity lab testing, and vital sign documentation. I also bring operational and customer-service strengths from owning and operating an online retail business on Etsy, where I manage listings, orders, shipping, inventory, and online marketing.
