@clayrichard
Ph.D. candidate specializing in computational protein engineering.
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Auburn University, where I have maintained a GPA of 3.80. My research focuses on developing engineering principles for the computational design of binding proteins, with applications in sensing and therapeutics. I have published work on molecular dynamics simulations that explore antibody-protein interactions, showcasing my commitment to advancing the field of protein engineering.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduating magna cum laude. My undergraduate research involved investigating the motion of transport proteins using Monte Carlo simulations, further solidifying my foundation in computational biomolecular studies. Additionally, I gained valuable experience as an ORISE Research Assistant at Oak Ridge National Lab, where I contributed to the development of novel biopolymers for sustainable manufacturing.
