Atwelukye Mkusa

I am an ICA-certified Anti-Money Laundering (AML) professional with more than 10 years of experience across financial services, customer onboarding, regulatory documentation, and client service. I also bring a background in information technology, supported by study in journalism, media technology (public relations), and information technology.

In my work, I focus on KYC verification and customer due diligence (CDD), including enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required. I’m experienced in maintaining regulatory documentation and records management, applying risk awareness and risk assessment, and handling confidential information with care and attention to detail.

Most recently, I supported customer onboarding and identity verification processes, reviewed client documentation to meet KYC and CDD requirements, and maintained Source of Funds documentation while escalating incomplete or unusual information. Earlier roles strengthened my ability to manage confidential client and legal records, coordinate administrative and stakeholder communications, and maintain operational and customer support documentation.

I’m motivated to build a long-term career in AML, KYC, Compliance, Financial Crime Prevention, and Risk Management. I continuously invest in my capabilities through my ICA AML certification (2023) and supporting professional learning, and I aim to contribute strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills to a compliant, risk-aware team.
