At Anna Kallschmidt, Ph.D., LLC, I help organizations identify and address the unwritten rules that shape who advances and who leaves. Through research, workshops, and coaching, I work to reduce first-promotion attrition and support newly promoted technical managers.
My book, The Unwritten Rules of Work: Social Class and Neurodivergent Identities, makes workplace norms visible, especially for people from working-class backgrounds and neurodivergent professionals. I'm the first researcher to publish on social class disclosure and concealment at work, and I translate between the direct communication often rewarded in technical work and the indirect communication common in corporate leadership.
At The National Institutes of Health, I developed a KPI framework to standardize performance measures across divisions and supported its rollout with implementation guidance and supervisor training. At Strategy Consulting Team, LLC, I built an Employee Experience transformation program for a federal defense organization, using employee feedback and evaluation to inform improvements.
Earlier, at Stanford University's American Voices Project, I redesigned personnel selection and training using job analysis and competency modelling, increasing employee retention by 30%. I also teach I-O Psychology and Leadership Development at Florida International University, bringing applied research to working professionals.
