At the International Water Management Institute, I coordinated ethnographic fieldwork and stakeholder engagement for an assessment of loss and damage in the Indian Sundarbans. I collaborated with scientists and researchers on climate change and community vulnerability, and contributed to research documentation, photo stories, and forthcoming publications.
For Policy and Development Action Group, I coordinated qualitative and quantitative research on caste, gender, and local governance, contributing to a policy report for development-sector stakeholders. My work has also included field research on indigenous media and cinema across Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha.
My research brings together ethnography and mixed methods, including work on women’s indebtedness and microfinance. For All India Democratic Women’s Association, I processed a dataset of more than 50,000 data points and conducted descriptive quantitative analysis in Stata.
My PhD thesis, submitted to IITDelhi in August 2026, examines religion, ritual, and the neo-liberal market of the Indian Sundarban. I’ve also published and presented research on the Sundarban, ecology, and religion.
