Tarannum Parveen

At Centre for Indo-Global Affairs, I authored a policy paper on facial recognition technology and the securitization of Muslims in post-riot Delhi. I applied Copenhagen School securitization theory to algorithmic surveillance.

I developed the original framework “algorithmic securitization,” extending securitization theory’s speech-act mechanism to algorithmic infrastructure. I also wrote “Algorithmic Securitization: When AI Becomes the Language of Exclusion,” translating the framework into a policy article for a general audience.

My research has included analyzing legal-policy working papers, investigative journalism and think-tank reporting through discourse analysis and thematic coding. At the Department of Political Science, University of Calcutta, I conducted structured interviews for a field survey on India–Bangladesh relations and contributed to a survey on rural women and development in Murshidabad district.

I’m targeting Responsible AI, technology risk and policy advisory roles. I’ve also written outreach and advocacy content on issues affecting underprivileged women and children, and processed image and data records.
