@alexeyuser
Senior Java engineer building cloud-native microservices and real-time platforms.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Java Engineer with 15 years of experience specializing in building and optimizing cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes, along with Angular-based front-ends. I’ve led enterprise modernization efforts—most notably developing and migrating a Patient Data Management System into a microservices-based architecture—while keeping a sharp focus on scalability, performance, and HIPAA-compliant security.
In my recent work, I design and implement microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs, integrate Kafka and MongoDB for real-time data processing, and deploy containerized services across AWS and GCP (including Kubernetes, GKE, GKE-style operations, monitoring, and logging). I also mentor teams, establish engineering requirements, enforce code quality with unit testing, and automate delivery with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline), ensuring high availability and faster incident response.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Led migration of Mayo Clinic’s Patient Data Management System to a microservices architecture, integrating Java 17, Spring Boot 3, MongoDB, and Kubernetes on GCP/AWS. Increased platform capacity by 40% and improved scalability, performance, and HIPAA-compliant compliance through Kafka streaming, GraphQL APIs, monitoring, and encryption.
Enhanced Mayo Clinic’s telemedicine platform by building cloud-native backend services and responsive UIs with Java/Spring and Angular/React. Improved scalability and security, implemented real-time data flows and WebRTC, and increased platform capacity by 40% to reduce latency during surges in telemedicine usage.
Developed LoanDepot’s in-house Loan Decisions Engine, building Java/Spring backend services and automating loan data validation, scrubbing, and approval workflows. Improved performance and maintainability with Redis caching, Kafka-based microservice messaging, a BFF architecture, and AWS migration (EC2/RDS/S3/Lambda/Elastic Beanstalk).
Contributed to the migration and enhancement of Johnson & Johnson’s Inventory Management module using Java 6 and Spring. Built RESTful APIs and backend services, integrated with C# legacy systems, implemented JMS messaging and caching, and optimized SQL Server queries to improve performance and reliability.
