I am a Registered Medical Assistant and healthcare professional with 10+ years of experience in clinical care, healthcare operations, patient services, and team leadership. Throughout my career, I have worked in neurology, pediatrics, hospital-based care, outpatient practices, and multidisciplinary clinical environments, giving me a well-rounded understanding of both patient care and healthcare operations.

I currently work as a Telecommunication Medical Assistant with Baptist Health, collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams in a fast-paced call center environment. I support patients, families, and outside facilities by triaging clinical calls, coordinating appointments, obtaining medical records, escalating urgent information, proposing diagnostic and laboratory orders, processing prescription refill requests, completing medical documentation, and assisting with patient portal and email communication. I take pride in being responsive, organized, and patient-focused while helping care teams prevent unnecessary delays in care.

Previously, I served as a Back Office Supervisor/Medical Assistant, where I developed strong leadership and management skills. I supervised staff, coordinated schedules and workflows, participated in hiring, coached and developed employees, monitored quality and performance, identified training needs, assisted with escalated issues, and partnered with leadership and Human Resources on employee performance and operational matters. This experience strengthened my ability to lead teams, solve problems, manage competing priorities, and improve daily operations.

My clinical background includes direct patient care, patient education, triage, EKGs, phlebotomy, vital signs, laboratory testing, injections and vaccines, medical records, insurance verification, prior authorizations, prescription refills, and clinical documentation. I also have experience with EHR/EMR systems, healthcare compliance, HIPAA, scheduling, quality assurance, and practice management.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoy building strong relationships with patients, physicians, clinical teams, and colleagues.
