Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Millwright Foreman to lead our team in maintaining and troubleshooting complex machinery and equipment within our industrial facility. This position is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of production processes and the implementation of best practices in machinery maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of millwrights, providing guidance and mentorship while fostering a safety-first culture
- Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify potential issues, implementing proactive maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machinery performance and reduce downtime
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment performance
- Implement training programs for team members to enhance skills and knowledge in millwright practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a millwright in an industrial setting
- Proven leadership experience in supervising a team of skilled tradespeople
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Valid millwright certification or equivalent trade qualification
Preferred:
- Experience with precision alignment and balancing of rotating equipment
- Familiarity with welding and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to the millwright trade
- Experience with computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues
