At Twinkl Scotland, we pride ourselves on creating quality content for all ages and stages of Scottish education. From ELC, through Primary and now into Secondary, we aim to provide content that engages learners and supports Scottish educators in getting it right for every child. We are always looking for opportunities to further support our users and supporting those who work with learners with Additional Support Needs is very important to us. Therefore, we are delighted to be expanding our team to allow us to focus further on developing resources to support ASN throughout the primary curriculum.

As a Content Writer and Editor for Scotland, you will be involved in planning, organising, creating and editing resources and other content for the site. You will need to have a strong, current working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence as well as experience of working within a primary setting in Scotland. We are particularly looking for a candidate who has experience of working with learners with Additional Support Needs within Scotland and who’s passionate about supporting those who teach in this area. You need to have an understanding of neurodiversity and have ideas about how we can support neurodivergent learners and the staff who support them. The ideal candidate will have inclusion at the heart of their teaching approach as well as an awareness of curricular adaptations and alternative learning pathways. It would also be beneficial if candidates have a knowledge of Total Communication approaches, Nurturing Principles, Emotional Literacy and Sensory Integration. You will use your knowledge to develop and edit resources with your content being made into a finished product for Twinkl by our highly skilled design team.

This role does not require you to work from the Twinkl office and meetings can be conducted via GoogleMeet/Hangouts when required. This is a remote, flexible position. Working hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments, but you should have availability for team meetings during office hours.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Ideate, develop, create and edit innovative ASN resources that support adult understanding and provide inspiration for learning experiences throughout Pre-Early, Early, First and Second Level.
  • Work and communicate with other team members in an agile working team to achieve sprint goals.
