Twinkl

What began as a spark of an idea in a Sheffield back bedroom in 2010 has since blossomed into a global educational publishing house. Twinkl was co-founded by Jonathan Seaton and his wife, Susie Seaton, a primary school teacher who found herself frustrated by the lack of high-quality, ready-made teaching materials. Recognizing a widespread need among educators who were spending precious evenings and weekends creating their own resources, Jon and Susie embarked on a mission 'to help those who teach'. Initially an 'after-work' venture, Twinkl quickly gained traction as teachers embraced the thoughtfully crafted, curriculum-aligned resources designed to save them time and enhance their teaching.

The company's growth has been remarkable. By 2014, Twinkl had moved into its current headquarters in Sheffield, England, and its reach began to extend far beyond the UK. Today, Twinkl offers over a million digital resources, from worksheets and lesson plans to interactive games and augmented reality tools, supporting educators in over 200 countries and regions. The team has expanded to over 1,500 members worldwide, including teachers, designers, and editors, all dedicated to producing reliable and engaging content. This global presence includes a significant office in Wollongong, Australia, opened in 2017. Twinkl's commitment to innovation and its dedication to supporting the teaching community have been recognized with prestigious awards, including two Queen's Awards for Enterprise. Despite its significant expansion and evolution into a comprehensive edtech platform, Twinkl's core mission remains steadfast: to empower educators and make a positive impact on learning worldwide.
