Controller (NetSuite Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the consulting industry is looking for a Controller to add to their team in Stamford, CT. This is an on-site position with the flexibility to work from home one day per week. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee and support a team (3 direct, 4 indirect), comprised of professionals handling day-to-day activity related to the general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background that includes team management, GAAP, financial statements, and ensuring efficiencies in daily accounting operations. Accounting experience related to consulting or advisory services is preferred but not required. To be successful, you must be a strong communicator and mentor willing to roll up your sleeves in a very hands-on and fast-paced environment. Controller (NetSuite Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and ensure the accuracy of general ledger transactions

• Oversee and approve vendor payments

• Lead a team of 7 professionals, providing direct leadership to the GL team & indirect to AR/AP
  • Review, reconcile and interpret internal financials to provide insights to business partners
  • Compile, review, and analyze financial statements
  • Research and communicate technical accounting issues
  • Provide support with M&A integration efforts
  • Act as a project manager for accounting-related initiatives
  • Support with technology projects and integrations that impact accounting
  • Provide coaching and guidance for team members' personal development
  • Stay current with GAAP updates, especially impacting revenue accounting

Controller (NetSuite Exp. Req.) Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, CPA or equivalent is preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated career progression is required
  • Managerial experience, including coaching and team guidance, is required
  • Experience using NetSuite is required
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formatting, formulas (ex: VLOOKUP) & pivot tables are required
  • Strong understanding of financial statements & reconciliations is required
  • Ability to work on-site 4 days per week is required
