Organization

There is a quiet revolution happening in telecom that will create more technological change in the next twenty years than anything but LLMs. The US is in the middle of a transition from delivering the Internet on technology built for telephones and televisions, to delivering it over fiber, technology built to deliver bits.

Households are relying more heavily on the Internet for work, school, entertainment, yet a growing network of smart devices and cable companies continue to squeeze more data through infrastructure that was built to deliver episodes of ‘Married with Children’ and charge more for it every year, while providing a frustrating customer experience.

Ting, an Internet (and mobile) service provider, part of Tucows (NASDAQ: TCX, TSX: TC), is a public company that has been making the Internet better since 1993. They are partnering with progressive towns across the country to change what people expect from their Internet service and their Internet service provider. Ting offers symmetrical Gigabit fiber Internet as well as simple, honest pricing and outstanding customer support. Customers are loving the service and the experience – and they are telling friends.

Ting Mobile disrupted the US cellphone industry in 2012, offering shockingly fair pricing, usable interfaces and no-hold, no-transfer live customer support. Ting Internet launched in the US in 2015. In December 2015, Gizmodo listed Ting as one of The 6 Best Things That Happened to the Internet This Year. Tucows is investing millions in fiber networks and partnering with small towns to change what people expect from their Internet service and their Internet service provider.

Ting Internet is revolutionizing Internet access in the United States and is currently laying the groundwork to prepare their business for rapid expansion. Ting is investing millions in building and operating Fiber networks and partnering with progressive towns across the US to change what people expect from their Internet service provider. Ting is gobbling up market share in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho and California (and soon, Memphis, Tennessee), and they are talking to new towns around the country every day.

About the Role

As an integral part of Ting, the EVP Marketing, will be a brand-building, storytelling, lead generating, data-leveraging, growth-marketing leader.

The role incumbent will be someone who will build and nurture strong relationships across the company – from product to support to network construction to installers – so that Ting’s efforts to acquire customers are in alignment with Ting’s efforts to serve and support those customers.

Making the Internet better since 1993. We are Hover, Ting Internet, OpenSRS, Enom and more. #JoinTheHerd.

We do a lot, but at our core, we're in the business of keeping people connected and keeping the Internet open.

As the second-largest domain registrar in the world by volume (OpenSRS, Enom, EPAG, Ascio and Hover), we help people find their place online.

As Ting Internet, we bring Crazy Fast Fiber InternetⓇ to communities across the U.S, helping them unlock the power of the Internet.

As a Mobile Services Enabler (MSE), we force big networks to compete and innovate.

It’s pronounced two-cows, btw.

We really, really like the Open Internet

Everything we build, make and do is on the Internet but that’s not the only reason we think the Internet is important.

Our story

Tucows started in 1993 by changing not just how people connected to the Internet but also who could get online.

We continue to push for change at every level of the Internet. Collectively, we manage tens of millions of domain names from .com to .xyz and work with tens of thousands of resellers (OpenSRS, Enom, EPAG). We eliminate all the ugliness from buying and owning your domain and email (Hover).

We changed what people expect from mobile phone service (Ting Mobile). We’re changing the way entire cities connect to and think about the Internet as we build and light true fiber to the premises networks across North America (Ting Internet).

We’re a collection of scrappy, stable, little, big brands. Together, we’re an overnight success story 25 years in the making and we’re a long way from finished.
