Job Title: Accountant

Department: Finance Department

Reports to: Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting

Work Location/Hours: To be available approx. 30-40 hours per week during either EST or PST

Effective Date: ASAP

Our client is a successful Fintech software vendor embarking on an exciting growth journey after significant recent internal investment in new products, people, and capabilities. Their software is used by some of the world’s top banks, hedge funds and commodity traders to run their trading and investing businesses. They have over 30 Financial Services clients globally, supported by their team of 100 talented individuals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • List the essential job duties that are specific to the position.
  • General ledger accounting in QuickBooks (i.e. bank recs, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals)
  • Revenue/deferred revenue & sales tax journal entries
  • Interface with 3rd party accountants in the UK and Paris to support the maintenance of the company’s foreign entity ledgers
  • Coordination with accounts payable and vendor management
  • Review and help process employee travel expense for reimbursement
  • Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Financial reports
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis - access QB and financial reporting systems to pull actual financials for use in trending and forecasting analyses

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Able to use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
  • Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and organize work appropriately to meet goals.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.

Benefits

  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Some type of certification is preferred
  • Expert proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks and/or NetSuite will be beneficial
  • Experience in technology and software business will be highly regarded
