Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SeniorGeneral Accountant with a strong background in U.S. accounting standards. The candidate will manage the financials for 10 designated entities within our holdings portfolio, which each have minimal transactions. You will serve as the right hand of the CFO. Primary responsibilities include bookkeeping, journal entries, and month-end closing. This role requires advanced knowledge of Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and expertise in Microsoft Excel, with at least two hours of overlap with U.S. working hours for effective collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks for 10 selected entities, ensuring accurate and organized financial records.
- General Ledger Management: Perform accurate journal entries and adjustments to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process for each entity, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statements.
- Financial Reporting: Generate monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, providing summaries and insights as needed.
- Transaction Analysis: Review and verify financial transactions, maintaining precision in classification and documentation.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all financial processes adhere to U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
- Data Management: Maintain an organized and accessible record system for transactions, audit trails, and documentation.
- Collaboration: Work with the finance team, providing support and insights on financial matters.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years in accounting roles, including experience with U.S.-based companies.
- Proven experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online is required.
- Experience working with multiple entities or in a holdings company is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Excel Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, and data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Work Environment: Must have a dedicated home office setup with reliable internet.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours with at least four hours of overlap with U.S. working hours (Pacific Time - Seattle, Washington).
