Job Description
The Data Centers Accountant isresponsible for the full-cycle accounting and consolidated reporting requirements of Stream Data Centers. This position delivers timely and accurate financial reports to reviewers and Stream Data Centers Partners. Additionally, the role assists Corporate Accounting leadership with various tasks and ad-hoc requests throughout the month. This position will allow a hybrid or fully remote work schedule. This position is unique within Stream as it is dedicated to our Data Centers Business and will also receive leadership from Stream Data Centers SVP of Finance along with Stream Realty’s VP of Corporate Accounting that oversees the Data Centers portfolio for consolidations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Deliver timely and accurate reports to corporate accounting reviewers and to Stream Partners.
- Calculate payroll pre-funding amounts and review/post actual payroll to the General Ledger.
- Calculate reimbursable payroll, overtime and payroll adjustments monthly.
- Complete reimbursable charges monthly.
- Complete Management Fees to internal team monthly.
- Calculate and File Texas & Minnesota sales tax filing monthly.
- Track investment entities and review documents to accurately record equity pickups
- Track pursuit projects and other investment vehicles to ensure proper reconciliation upon sale or ownership change.
- Review employee reimbursement expenses for accuracy and post to General Ledger.
- Review corporate credit card transactions for accuracy and post to General Ledger.
- Review A/P invoices, post payment batches, and provide payable reports to Data Center AP Admin to print checks at least weekly.
- Review and approve cash receipts.
- Responsible for cash management of assigned entities and communicating issues to VP of Corporate Accounting and SVP of Data Centers Finance.
- Special reporting and analytical or Ad Hoc projects as needed or requested.
- Respond to questions from local offices timely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Full-cycle accounting experience is a must
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Consolidated financial reporting experience
- Intercompany account reconciliations experience
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate with partners and internal/external customers
- High attention to detail and ability to work with a large amount of financial data
- Able to exhibit high level of confidentiality
- Commercial real estate industry or Property Management industry experience is a plus
- Yardi or NetSuite accounting software is a plus; Proficiency in MS Excel required
- A positive, proactive attitude
- Desire to work in a cooperative, productive teamwork environment and willingness to share information with co-workers as appropriate
