This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a maternity leave through May 2027. It offers a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role within Sonos’ EMEA team, leading PR and influencer strategy in one of our most important markets.

This role can be done from home

Building the world’s leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role can be done from Germany or from the Netherlands. For candidates based in the Netherlands, please note that we strictly require bilingual proficiency in German.

Role Summary

As the PR and Influencer Manager, EMEA – Germany, your primary goal is to drive the Earned function across priority market Germany (DE), and potentially other territories. You will be responsible for building and executing innovative PR and influencer programs that deliver against Sonos’ Earned objectives—fueling brand trust and relevance, driving cultural impact, and contributing to business growth.

This includes localizing global strategies for maximum cultural resonance, activating world-class product and feature launches (NPIs/NFIs), sustaining ongoing storytelling, and shaping Sonos’ presence in lifestyle, music, and tech culture. You will also be expected to support global initiatives and contribute insights back into the global Earned strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, PR and Influencer, EMEA, you will act as the key driver of cultural storytelling in your markets—building influence through media, creators, tastemakers, and partnerships. While you will directly lead earned and influencer efforts in Germany, in other markets you could work closely with distributor partners and their agencies to ensure strategies are aligned, resources are optimized, and execution reflects Sonos’ brand and business objectives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Elevate brand heat and cultural relevance through earned-first storytelling, PR campaigns, and influencer/creator activations.

  • Lead the development and execution of an integrated earned and influencer strategy for Germany and potentially other markets, inclusive of:

    • Localizing global initiatives to fit cultural context and audience needs.

    • Launching NPIs/NFIs with impact, adapting global press materials and messaging where needed.

    • Driving local cultural initiatives that support regional marketing priorities.

  • Run an efficient press office—including seeding, seasonal/cultural moments, brand storytelling, and business/campaign announcements.

  • Manage influencer and creator programs—from relationship building to campaign-

specific collaborations that amplify Sonos in music, culture, and tech spaces.

  • Lead media and influencer events, aligning with global toolkits but tailoring for cultural fit. Oversee logistics (tech setup, spokesperson prep, supplier management, guest list curation, agency support).

  • Potentially: Partner with distributor teams and their PR/influencer agencies in growth markets to align on regional budgets, priorities, localize campaigns, and ensure Sonos’ standards for brand storytelling and execution are met.

    • Provide guidance, toolkits, and strategic oversight to distributor partners, enabling them to deliver best-in-class earned activity in their markets.

  • Proactively monitor industry and cultural trends in your markets, providing insights and recommendations to refine strategies.

  • Cultivate deep relationships with media, influencers, tastemakers, and cultural partners to maximize earned opportunities.

  • Build the right ecosystem of agencies, vendors, and creators across the region, ensuring resources are best-in-class and fit for purpose.

  • Track, measure, and report impact, working with global/regional teams to demonstrate clear ROI and learnings from earned initiatives.

You Are:

  • A passionate comms professional who knows how to drive conversation and cultural resonance in today’s fast-evolving earned landscape.

  • A strategic and creative thinker, and strong storyteller with proven experience in public relations, influencer marketing, and cultural communications in both established and emerging markets.

  • Skilled at managing through influence, with experience collaborating across distributor or partner-led markets.

  • Diplomatic and adaptable, with the ability to build trust and alignment with external partners while safeguarding Sonos’ brand voice.

  • Adept at balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple markets and priorities.

  • A collaborative team player and trusted cross-functional partner.

  • Comfortable navigating cultural nuance across diverse regions and building strong local networks.

  • Agile, positive, and adaptive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluent in German

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

  • Willing to travel as needed.

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years PR experience working at an international company/client/agency, ideally in the consumer electronics, or lifestyle/entertainment industry.

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong understanding of the local media, cultural and influencer landscape

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and across different time zones.

  • Ability to balance critical thinking with tactical execution

  • Excellent writing and communications skills.

  • Proficient in: Google Suite of services (sheets/drive/slides, etc), Meltwater is a plus.

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. If you don’t have 100% of the skills listed, we strongly encourage you to apply if interested.

Your profile will be reviewed and you'll hear from us once we have an update. At Sonos we take the time to hire right and appreciate your patience.

Sonos is dedicated to transforming the way people experience sound in their homes. Customers often face the challenge of clunky, complicated audio setups with wires that clutter their space and systems that don't work together seamlessly. That's why Sonos pioneered wireless multi-room home audio, creating a system that allows listeners to enjoy their favorite music, podcasts, and audiobooks in any or every room with pristine, immersive sound. The goal is to make listening a valued and effortless part of daily life, whether it's for starting the day with an energizing playlist, creating the perfect movie night atmosphere, or helping a baby drift off to sleep with a gentle lullaby. The entire ecosystem of speakers, home theater systems, and portable devices is designed with the customer's experience at the forefront, ensuring that setup is simple, control is intuitive via the Sonos app, and the sound quality is second to none.

Understanding that every home is unique, Sonos developed proprietary Trueplay™ tuning technology, which intelligently adapts the speaker's sound to the specific acoustics of the room. This ensures that customers hear their content exactly as the artist intended, with beautifully balanced and detailed audio. Sonos partners with over 100 streaming services, including major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, giving listeners access to all their beloved content in one place. The platform is also compatible with major voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control. By focusing on a seamless integration of hardware, software, and services, Sonos empowers customers to build their perfect sound system over time. They can start with a single speaker and easily add more, creating a connected audio experience that fills their entire home and enriches their lives through the power of sound.
