About the Role
Supports manual testing efforts on an established development team. Works within the team to test and validate system requirements on a variety of systems and configurations. Writes test plans executes test cases and identifies and documents defects in the system. Assist with Software Application Support as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze requirements to write and execute test cases
- Create simple to moderate SQL statements to validate data
- Identify and troubleshoot defects and other test deficiencies
- Become an SME in the system
- Create training materials around completed test efforts as needed
- Ensure that applications and systems function properly and according to business standards and end-user specifications and requirements
- Participate in the AGILE software development lifecycle process to identify defects
- Participate in the functional and/or technical specification documents review
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of Agile and Quality Assurance methodologies
- Ability to with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of working in SQL and applications such as Jira Zephyr and other QA tools
- Understanding of working with test design/planning writing and executing test cases
- Experience with testing web based and mobile applications
Education and Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance or comparable work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field (or equivalent work experience)
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
