SUMMARY
The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) isresponsible for the architecture, performance, reliability, and strategicdirection of a hybrid database environment supporting business-criticalfinancial systems, including Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), risk systems, andfront-office applications.
Operating within a 24/7 staff augmentation model, this role provides technicalleadership across Microsoft SQL Server (primary), Oracle (OCI), and Azuredatabase platforms. The Senior DBA serves as an escalation point for complexincidents, leads proactive optimization initiatives, and supports cloudmigration strategies aligned with enterprise data centre exit goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Leadership
oLead administration ofMicrosoft SQL Server environments across Production, UAT, and Dev.
oProvide architectural oversightfor hybrid database deployments (On-Prem + Azure + OCI).
oServe as Tier 3 escalationpoint for high-severity incidents.
oLead root cause analysis (RCA)and corrective action planning.
oCollaborate with businessleaders to help deliver technical (database) roadmaps to support overallbusiness goals.
- Performance & Optimization
oProactively analyze andoptimize database performance.
oPartner with development teamsto tune complex queries and improve application efficiency.
oIdentify systemic performancerisks before business impact.
oOversee capacity planning anddatabase growth forecasting.
- High Availability &Resilience
oDesign and maintain HA/DRsolutions (AlwaysOn, clustering, replication).
oEnsure 24/7 operationalreadiness and SLA compliance.
oParticipate in disasterrecovery planning and testing exercises.
oMaintain trees escalation andcritical response procedures.
- Cloud & StrategicInitiatives
oSupport migration of on-premEDW and risk database to Azure.
oProvide technical input intodata center exit strategy.
oAdvice on modernization oflegacy database workloads.
oSupport Oracle database hostedin OCI and coordinate with third-party vendors when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of enterprise databaseadministration experience.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft SQLServer (2016+ preferred).
- Strong experience with:
oAlwaysOn Availability Groups
oClustering & replication
oBackup/recovery strategies
oPerformance tuning &indexing strategies
- Experience managing Azure SQLenvironments.
- Experience supporting hybridcloud architecture.
- Proven experience in 24/7high-availability environments.
- Strong working knowledge ofstructured ITSM processes (Jira, ITIL frameworks).
