We are seeking a Government Affairs and Public Policy professional to support Salesforce’s government affairs in India. The individual will help execute our political and policy strategy, assist with Salesforce work with industry associations; work with the India leadership team, our public sector team; navigate regulatory issues and provide other support as required and report into the Senior Director and Head, Government Affairs, India & South Asia.
Activities/Responsibilities
Manage contacts with key influencers: elected and government officials at all levels, industry leaders.
Represent Salesforce before government, trade associations, think-tanks, and industry coalitions.
Conduct analysis of political and regulatory issues that need to be advocated by Salesforce, and develop public policy submissions.
Prepare external advocacy materials and position papers; briefings for executive interaction with policymakers and community leaders
Work with a cross-functional team — Legal, Sales, Public Sector, Real Estate, PR, Marketing, Trailhead, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Slack, Tableau, Mulesoft, AI etc., — to develop policy positions supporting multi-tenant, public cloud computing, enterprise software, among others, across India.
Advocate for policy positions and support partnerships to further Salesforce’s “Business as a Platform for Change” mission
Plan, co-ordinate and execute, in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external consultants, Government Affairs and Public Policy related events that engage external leaders with Salesforce.
Required Skills/Experience
Proven experience in public policy and/or law
Excellent written and verbal communication
Deep knowledge and experience of the policy-making process across India, and a desire to understand and learn technology policy
Experience working in government and/or government affairs environment, good knowledge of respective government protocol and government relations in market
Experience in developing / presenting public policy positions before government or other key stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to travel
Interest and ability to learn new technology concepts and communicate on the technology to public policy stakeholders
Desired Skills/Experience
Ability to work independently and take initiative, yet 100% devoted to the team
Experience working at a multinational company or a technology company, with experience in AI, cybersecurity and privacy policy
