Job Description
Kroger Application Platform(KAP) is an initiative to develop common development toolset/framework for an application team to quickly get started on their Cloud journey. As part of KAP Data track, we are looking for DevOps engineers to help us with automating and building scripts to provision infrastructure for Azure data platform services.
What are the top 3 must have skills that these candidates need to have to be considered?:
1. At least one configuration deployment tool (Terraform, Ansible or Chef)
2. Experience architecting cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, or GitLab)
3. Experience with any Cloud data platforms deployment
REQUIRED SKILLS:
7+ years of professional experience
3+ years of Terraform and Azure Automation experience
Experience managing and provisioning Infrastructure as code components in Cloud
Hands-on experience of programming in languages such as Python, bash, go etc.
Experience architecting cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, or GitLab
Hands-on experience designing & deploying Highly available Azure Cloud data platforms.
Experience deploying incremental changes and manage production deployment pipelines.
Experience working in an Agile, fast paced, DevOps Environment
Support internal customers in adopting the developed automated patterns
Strong presentation, verbal, and written communications skills
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Knowledge of deployment of Cloud data platforms such as MS SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, etc
Knowledge of Data services and Event services (EventHub, Event Grid, Service Bus) in Azure
Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewall
Experience implementing and designing cloud native security concepts, DevSecOps or MLOps
Ability to lead effectively across organizations and engagements, preferably from a professional services organization or similar
Key Responsibilities
Automate and build scripts to provision infrastructure for Azure data platform services
Enhance existing templates that are already build (Ex: Integrate with ServiceNow)
Assist Kroger application teams in utilizing templates and support as needed
Present new capabilities/features developed to broader audience
