Providence is calling a Coding Quality Educator who will:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the PCN Coding Integrity Team and regional coding teams
  • Assist with new employee training and ongoing department education
  • Assist with the identification, development and delivery of new and ongoing provider education and training related to coding and clinical documentation
  • Conduct independent and collaborative provider coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan and develops appropriate documentation to support coding review work performed
  • Collaborate with various departments e.g., Physician Network Operations, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Practice Operations, and other key stakeholders necessary to develop and implement training curriculum for prioritized opportunities in assigned departments
  • Lead provider training
  • Analyze and distribute key performance metric
  • Develop action plans for improvement in collaboration with the provider leadership

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 4+ years of experience with professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, E/M, auditing and other related work
  • 4+ years of experience conducting medical coding provider audits and quality performance measures
  • 4+ years of experience preparing audit reports with recommendations
  • 4+ years of experience providing provider education and feedback to facilitate improvement in documentation and coding
  • National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (Vendor Managed) -OR- National Certification from American Health Information Management Association
  • Strong experience in Excel (e.g., pivot tables), database, e-mail, and Internet applications on a PC in a Windows environment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare related field of study
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology or another related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in coding for multispecialty practice
  • 2+ years of experience in professional fee billing methodologies
  • Experience with IDX, Allscripts, Advanced Web, Meditech
  • Experience with project management

  • Max: $55.34

Lubbock, Levelland, Plainview TX:

  • Min: $26.67
  • Max: $42.21

TX: Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio:

  • Min: $34.96
  • Max: $55.34

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
