We’re excited about building out our finance and accounting department and are seeking a versatile, adaptable and collaborative Senior Accounting Manager to join our highly skilled team. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. This role will support a variety of accounting and analytical work and you will gain valuable experience growing a young company. What You Will Do As A Senior Accounting Manager
- Work independently, performing complex accounting activities related to general accounting, fixed assets, operational accounting, capitalized software, debt, leasing, eliminations, accruals, prepaids, equity, etc.
- Controls, monitors, and reviews accounts to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with all pertinent procedures and regulations; reviews financial reports and statements; applies SOX techniques and practices to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
- Review the work performed by others including but not limited to invoices, vendor detail, journal entries, allocations, non-controlling interests, eliminations, prepaids, accruals, cash as well as account reconciliations.
- Prepare and/or review monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
- Review and analyze financial data and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports and variance analysis.
- Support management with ad hoc requests.
- Partner with managers and internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.
- Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with both external and internal audit teams. Support SEC reporting as required.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.
What You Will Bring As A Senior Accounting Manager
- B.S. degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience in a public corporate accounting setting including shared services. Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years’ work experience in a corporate accounting setting in a public company with some management experience.
- Must have prior SOX experience.
- Demonstrates wide-ranging experience in job function. Acts independently; determines new methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Works on significant and unique issues that have mid-term (2+ years) cross-functional implications where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of complex issues such as segment recasting.
- Highly advanced, demonstrates ability to lead initiatives that require definition, cooperation and conflict resolution with all levels of the organization including senior leadership and the C-Suite, including ability to actively influence C-suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - ability to analyze complex information and reach clear, concise conclusions. Identifies solutions to significant business problems. Having performed segment restatements is a plus.
- Actively uses AI and its capabilities to assist in the writing of fluctuations commentary.
- Strong communication skills - effective at soliciting information and cooperation at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Cross functional influence and leadership will be required with FPA and systems application.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of completeness, accuracy and accounting complexity.
- A collaborative, customer-centric approach with the ability to work with business units, accounting, and finance functions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Smart View, and Net Suite would be a plus.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
- Prior NetSuite, SmartView and FloQast experience a plus.
- Proven experience working with US based business teams.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap.
- Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload.
What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member
Pay Range*: 3,750,000 - 5,250,000 INR annually
*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors amongwhich are your work experience and skillsets,job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
