Job Description

We’re hiring a Lead Software Architect to drive a full-scale modernization of our platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role (40% coding, 60% architecture/mentorship) focused on evolving a real-time, distributed SaaS platform built for scale. You'll lead US-based innovation efforts, help define product architecture, and collaborate with near/offshore teams to execute clean, scalable solutions.

You’ll reimagine the architecture of a high-volume SaaS platform while introducing new technologies like AI, optimizing performance, and reducing technical debt.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and modernize a microservices-based platform using Domain-Driven Design.
  • Build new frontend features using React and support legacy Angular code.
  • Develop scalable backend services with Node.js and Java Spring Framework.
  • Work with databases including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch.
  • Design and manage containerized systems in AWS ECS (no Kubernetes).
  • Integrate services using Kafka and real-time messaging.
  • Collaborate with PMs and UX to shape intuitive user experiences.
  • Mentor developers and enforce best practices in code quality and system design.
  • Lead R&D initiatives and apply AI tools to accelerate development.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines support clean delivery workflows.

Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years in software engineering, with architecture experience.
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Java Spring Framework, and React (Angular a plus).
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native design.
  • Experience with AWS ECS, not Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design and CI/CD.
  • Proven ability to modernize legacy systems and refactor complex codebases.
  • Bonus: Experience in high-transaction systems (e.g., fintech, loyalty).
  • Strong design instincts and passion for clean, maintainable code.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead in a hybrid team setting.
