Description Overview

We are excited to be recruiting for a dedicated Product Innovation Manager to join our Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements Category Team.

This position will suit an R&D professional who is seeking a new challenge and has the desire to make a difference and is an initial 18 Month Fixed Term Contract.

As Product Innovation Manager VMS you will be responsible for identifying and developing innovation opportunities in order to broaden the company's product and brand portfolio.

The Product Innovation Manager VMS is also responsible for the scientific and clinical support for the portfolio. This position reports to Senior Innovation manager & Wellness Category Lead and will collaborate closely with Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Sourcing and our external development partners.

At Perrigo, our Product Innovation Manager function is an integral, valued part of our business! Without the important work undertaken by the R&D team our leading self-care products such as Abtei, Davitamon, Vitamax, ,NiQuitin, XLS and Physiomer would not be so readily available to consumers!

We offer a hybrid working model (3 days per week working onsite, 2 days per week working remotely).

Scope of the Role

• Translate the latest trends in Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements into innovative propositions for new products (by seeking new active ingredients, interesting supplier formulas, new galenic formats etc.)
• Support in development and reformulation projects with technical expert knowledge
• Work closely together with the Marketing and Regulatory teams in achieving the best possible claims for our products
• Provide scientific support to the other functions & affiliates for the existing product portfolio

Experience Required

• Strong technical and scientific background as well as a strong affinity for marketing of consumer goods
• Passion for formulation design
• Solid knowledge of food supplements and a good understanding of their legal / regulatory aspects
• Well-organized communicator who likes to take ownership
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to collaborate closely with other departments

Nice to have skills

• Ideally practical experience in sensory evaluation (organisation and execution)
• Ideally experience in Front End Innovation
• Travel requirement: Occasional need to travel to suppliers, fairs, workshops and team meetings
• Language requirement: fluent in both written and spoken English
