About the Role
Our client is seeking a Technical Program Manager who can operate confidently at the intersection of engineering and business. This person will be responsible for driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from initial ambiguity through to execution and delivery, even without direct reporting authority. The ideal profile is someone who can comfortably engage with both technical and commercial stakeholders, read and interpret code, and make practical use of AI tools to improve speed and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery across multiple projects at once, managing timelines, dependencies, risks, and execution.

• Partner closely with engineering, product, and business teams, aligning stakeholders with different priorities and communication styles.

• Assess incoming initiatives for both technical feasibility and business impact, and challenge requests when the return does not justify the effort.

• Translate technical concepts into clear business implications for non-technical stakeholders, while also converting business goals into actionable engineering context.

• Maintain strong documentation across programs, including project specs, key decisions, architecture notes, progress updates, and post-project reviews.

• Leverage AI tools where appropriate to prototype solutions, test ideas, and accelerate delivery.

• Proactively identify and remove cross-functional blockers before they impact timelines.

Requirements

• Around 3–5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering, or a similar cross-functional role.

• Proven ability to deliver results through influence rather than direct authority.

• Strong project planning and coordination skills, with experience managing several initiatives at the same time.

• Ability to get up to speed quickly on new systems, platforms, and codebases.

• Working knowledge of backend and frontend technologies — such as Python, Java, C, TypeScript, and React — sufficient to read code, ask informed questions, and sense-check AI-assisted outputs.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and direct communication style.

• Demonstrated strength in producing and maintaining high-quality documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience creating PoCs or lightweight prototypes using AI-assisted development tools.

• Ability to sketch out high-level system designs or architecture diagrams to support early-stage technical discussions.

• Prior experience working with distributed teams or cross-functional engineering environments.

• Familiarity with evaluating technical initiatives using cost-benefit or investment decision frameworks.
