POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy are searching for an Academic Program Coordinator. This position will provide administrative support to the World Campus undergraduate bachelor’s degree political science programs, as well as for the Counterterrorism (CTRTR) graduate certificate, and the Counterterrorism option in the interdisciplinary Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Homeland Security (HLS) online degree program.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as primary department contact for all World Campus online program inquiries; assist students and instructors with questions.
Review and process admission applications.
Perform course scheduling tasks and manage the student evaluations process for online programs.
Maintain student records and documents, track student progress, process correspondence and forms for the approval of instructors for graduate courses.
Liaise with staff of the HLS program's main office in Harrisburg and World Campus program staff.
Provide administrative assistance to the Associate Head/Director of Online Programs, the Director of the Counterterrorism option, and the Director of the Semester in Washington, D.C., program.
Assist with maintaining web pages related to Political Science World Campus majors and programs, and maintain resource documents for online instructors.
Run complex queries in LionPath (Penn State’s student information system) and iTwo (web-based tool used for data access, analysis, and distribution) that provide detailed information for inclusion in internal/external reports.
Arrange Washington, D.C.-based events and provide oversight of the application process for the Washington, D.C., program.
Out-of-town/overnight travel may be required on a very limited basis.
The Academic Program Coordinator will work both independently, as well as collaborate/have support of their team when completing the position’s responsibilities. This position will serve as a back-up to other members of the Political Science and Public Policy academic and administrative teams to ensure adequate coverage, as needed.

Additional Information:
This position will report to the Academic Program Coordinator Supervisor.
