About nPlan
In a world where large-scale construction projects frequently face costly delays and overruns, a new approach was desperately needed. Six out of every seven large-scale construction projects are delivered late, and for every $1 billion spent on projects, a staggering $127 million is wasted. Recognizing this critical issue, Dev Amratia and Alan Mosca met through Entrepreneur First and in 2017, nPlan was born. Their founding belief was that the power of artificial intelligence and 'big data' could revolutionize how these complex undertakings are modeled and forecasted, offering far greater accuracy than traditional methods ever could. To turn this vision into reality, nPlan embarked on assembling a vast dataset of past project schedules, laying the groundwork for their innovative technology.
The early days saw nPlan articulate its ambitious vision: to create a world where our collective ambitions are no longer constrained by our understanding of risk. This powerful idea quickly gained traction, leading to a successful seed funding round and the piloting of their early platform by some of the world's largest project owners. The journey continued with significant milestones, including being awarded Risk Management Product of the Year in the CIR Risk Management Awards in 2020. A major turning point came in 2021 with a Series A funding round of $18.5 million, led by GV (formerly Google Ventures), a testament to the growing confidence in nPlan's transformative potential. This investment fueled further development and expansion. Today, nPlan's dataset has grown to encompass over 750,000 project programs, and it continues to expand. The world's leading owner-operators and contractors now utilize nPlan's machine learning-powered technology and its AI assistant, Barry, to forecast and de-risk their projects with unprecedented precision, heralding a new era in project management.
