Job Description:

Take charge of maintenance planning and execution as a Senior Maintenance Planner, leading a team of planners and driving efficient and effective maintenance work activities across multiple craft groups. With a focus on collaboration, data analysis, and technical expertise, you'll manage the development and enforcement of policies, processes and standards including but not limited to work priorities, resource assignment, special project and process improvement oversight to ensure safe and efficient job execution for vaccine bulk manufacturing, filling, and other critical processes. As a seasoned leader, you'll provide technical guidance, support regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements to optimize maintenance operations and support the World Class Maintenance Excellence vision of our organization.

Under the supervision of an Associate Director of Maintenance Planning, the Senior Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient and effective planning of maintenance work activities. The planning organization is a centralized function where planners are assigned to support all crafts (HVAC, IT, Elec, Millwright, Pipefitter, Stationary Engineer) in one or more maintenance shops. The Senior Planner will have several direct reports along with providing planning support for an assigned area, which may include vaccine bulk manufacturing, filling, lyophilization, packaging, and/or support utilities including power, HVAC, steam, WFI and controlled temperature units.

The Senior Planner will work collaboratively with all stakeholders, manage work priorities based on scheduling needs, & engage the proper resources to execute a safe, effective and efficient job for all planned Preventative, Predictive and Corrective work orders during normal and plant shutdown operations.

DUTIES

  • Provide management to other Maintenance Planners.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to support the maintenance planning organization.

  • Lead the establishment, utilization and management of a standard job plan library

  • Lead the establishment of a standardized training protocol and executable training plans for Maintenance Planners, and other internal and external stakeholders that interoperate with Maintenance Planning (Engineers, gatekeepers, Management, Schedulers, Mechanics, Storeroom Operators and Purchasing Buyers)

  • Lead and/or support the establishment and growth of Maintenance Planning functional support when new support functions arise such as HEPA, Calibration, SV/PRD or other functions such as these.

  • Exemplify, develop and uphold policies for both performance and professional behavior

  • Data mine the CMMS system to identify areas for improvement and standardization

  • Assign codes to work orders.

  • Make field inspections and determine appropriate job work scopes.

  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work.

  • Create, use, and maintain plant history and other technical files to update information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays.

  • Perform purchasing duties as required.

  • Stage materials and special tools as required.

  • Evaluate job feedback to improve job plans.

  • Stay up to date with current site safety rules and regulations.

  • Utilize CMMS computer software and other computer applications to support the maintenance function.

  • Update CMMS records and master data.

  • Provide technical assistance as required for maintenance personnel.

  • Prepare reports as required.

  • Supports positive safety culture.

  • Explains and enforces all GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Assist in audits, regulatory inspections and training in the area of responsibility.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Science, 4 Year Engineering Technology Degree.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of manufacturing experience or technical support group or equivalent.

  • Proficient in the following competencies: empowering leadership, flexibility, motivation, teamwork/collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and computer skills.

  • Knowledge and expertise in the application of engineering standards (i.e. ASME, IEEE, NFPA, CFR 1910, NIST, and/or ANSI).

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Six (6) years of manufacturing experience or technical support group

  • Knowledge of large industrial equipment such as fans, pumps, and air handlers and their associated components such as bearings and actuators.

  • Four (4) years of hands-on experience working with a CMMS with an emphasis on maintenance order, workflow and maintenance material acquisitions.

  • Strong computer skills (CMMS, Excel, etc.)

  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Active Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP)

  • Experience with data analytic tools such as, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, etc.

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Knowledge of cGMPs for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine manufacturing
