What You will Do
- Design, build, and maintain the systems powering Affi rm’s ephemeral developer environments used in both local and CI contexts.
- Improve environment provisioning, stability, and teardown workfl ows to enhance developer velocity and reliability.
- Develop tools and automation for testing, debugging, and feature validation across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with other Developer Productivity teams to integrate environment management with CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to developer environment performance, scalability, and dependency management.
- Contribute to observability and monitoring of environment health, metrics, and resource utilization.
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation and internal guides for developer onboarding and environment usage.
- Participate in design and code reviews, advocating for maintainability, reliability, and engineering best practices.
Required Skills
Python Development: Strong experience building scalable, production-grade applications, automation scripts, and backend services.
Containerization (Docker) & Orchestration (Kubernetes): Ability to design, deploy, and manage containerized workloads, including CI/CD-integrated pipelines and multi-environment clusters.
CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Buildkite): Proven experience configuring automated pipelines, managing deployments, and implementing build/test automation across distributed systems
Cloud Platforms: Solid experience working with major cloud providers, including provisioning resources, managing cloud-native services, and designing scalable infrastructure.
Kotlin: Ability to develop and maintain services or tooling using Kotlin, ideally within microservices or cloud-driven ecosystems.Containers & Cloud-Native Architecture: Strong understanding of container lifecycle, image creation, registry management, and modern cloud-native patterns.
