This role will support a nationwide network of mental health providers and group therapy practices through onboarding and ongoing credentialing processes, ensuring all activities meet rigorous regulatory and documentation requirements.

The Credentialing Associate will play a key role in maintaining audit-ready provider files, supporting Joint Commission compliance efforts, and ensuring accuracy across credentialing systems and workflows. This individual will respond to provider inquiries, support administrative and credentialing updates, and help ensure that both the provider and client experience meet Lyra’s high standards for quality and compliance.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and passionate about both operational excellence and delivering a strong provider experience, while confidently navigating relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

    ● Manage tickets and provide ongoing education and support to providers and group practices on credentialing requirements, policies, and processes aligned with The Joint Commission standards.

    ● Respond to daily provider inquiries related to credentialing, documentation requirements, onboarding status, and administrative updates.

    ● Maintain and update provider credentialing records, ensuring all files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready in accordance with Joint Commission requirements.

    ● Support credentialing audits by reviewing provider files, identifying missing or non-compliant elements, and assisting with remediation efforts.

    ● Track and verify provider information including licensure, certifications, education, training, and work history to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

    ● Assist in preparing documentation and reports for internal audits, mock surveys, and Joint Commission survey readiness activities.

    ● Maintain and update internal systems and provider databases, ensuring alignment across credentialing, provider directories, and operational platforms.

    ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant provider onboarding and maintenance.

    ● Identify discrepancies or risks within credentialing data and escalate issues as appropriate.

    ● Contribute to process improvements that enhance compliance, audit readiness, and operational efficiency.

    ● Partner with technical teams to identify system issues, improve workflows, and enhance the provider experience while maintaining compliance standards.

    ● Serve as a liaison between Provider Success and credentialing leadership, ensuring accurate communication of provider status and readiness.

Qualifications

    ● Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).

    ● 2+ years of credentialing, provider relations, or healthcare operations experience in a clinic, outpatient practice, hospital, or behavioral health setting.

    ● Familiarity with The Joint Commission credentialing and documentation standards strongly preferred.

    ● Experience supporting audit processes, compliance reviews, or accreditation readiness efforts is a plus.

    ● Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

    ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain requirements and build trust with providers and internal stakeholders.

    ● Experience with systems such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Jira, or credentialing platforms, or the ability to quickly learn new tools.

    ● Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

    ● Proactive problem-solver who can identify gaps, escalate risks, and follow through on resolution.

    ● Passion for improving mental health care and supporting high-quality, compliant provider networks.

    ● Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

At the heart of Lyra Health is a mission to transform access to life-changing mental health care. Founded in 2015 by David Ebersman, former CFO of Facebook and Genentech, Lyra was born out of the recognition that finding quality mental health care was a significant challenge. The company is built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel emotionally healthy and that mental health is a critical component of overall well-being. Lyra's culture is rooted in a set of core values that guide its operations and interactions. These include: 'Follow the science,' emphasizing a commitment to evidence-based practices and publishing results; 'Listen harder,' fostering better decision-making through seeking diverse opinions and genuine dialogue; and 'Look inwards,' encouraging the courage to self-reflect and embrace improvement. The value of 'Mind yourself' underscores the importance of nurturing personal well-being and practicing the skills taught to clients. 'Put clients first' is a central tenet, driving the team to work with purpose to make a tangible impact on those in need. Transparency is a hallmark of Lyra's culture, encapsulated in the value 'Show your cards,' which promotes sharing context. Finally, 'Tackle hard problems' reflects the company's willingness to embrace challenges that others might avoid.

Lyra strives to create a work environment where every employee feels seen, valued, and heard, fostering a sense of belonging across all historically marginalized employees. The company provides ongoing employee programs and benefits that support individual wellness and offers workshops, education, and growth opportunities to embed principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) into every aspect of its work. Lyra's approach combines technology with a human touch, utilizing an innovative digital care platform and a global network of providers to connect individuals with therapists, mental health coaches, and personalized medication prescribing. This model aims to make finding care easier, more personalized, and more effective, helping people recover faster. By partnering with leading employers, Lyra extends its reach to millions of individuals, offering them access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health support. The company is dedicated to breaking down barriers to mental health treatment and creating a world where mental well-being is prioritized and accessible to all.
