At Journal Technologies, we believe our technology can be a force for good in the world ensuring the proper and efficient functioning of some of the most foundational aspects of society - the courts and justice system.

We create and implement enterprise software that supports the administration of justice, currently in the United States, Canada, and Australia. While our eSeries product suite enables governments and their employees to deliver continued foundational court processes, our R&D focuses on leveraging emerging possibilities with technology to improve access and efficiency.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Journal Technologies is a long-time, wholly-owned subsidiary of Daily Journal Corporation (NASDAQ: DJCO). We also have a major office in Logan, Utah, a team in Melbourne, Australia, an office in Victoria, Canada and a growing number of remote staff across North America and the world.

Under our next generation of leadership, we're implementing a new vision for the company that prioritizes building an extraordinary workplace with empowered people at the heart of our business. Great people want to collaborate with great people, and we are actively looking for smart, motivated people who care deeply about the work they do.

Senior Systems Integration Developer:

We’re hiring an Integration Developer to design and implement custom integrations between our enterprise SaaS platforms, such as CRM, ERP, ticketing, and project management systems. This is not a typical development-only role. You’ll lead technical discovery with business teams, define how systems share and govern data, and build secure, scalable integrations using APIs, SQL, and modern cloud-native practices.

Your work will shape how our internal platforms work together long-term, and you’ll play a key role in setting the integration strategy as well as delivering solutions hands-on. This role is hands-on and technical, but also requires someone who can understand business process needs, identify data ownership across systems, and design for secure, maintainable integration across cloud environments.

While experience with CRM tools is helpful, this role focuses more broadly on your ability to design custom integrations between multiple SaaS systems, including those without prebuilt connectors. You’ll be a key contributor to both project-based and ongoing integration efforts, helping standardize how internal systems connect, share data, and scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of a comprehensive technical architecture that integrates the company’s business applications with operational applications
  • Collaborate with executive-level stakeholders and the Project Manager to understand business objectives and translate them into a technical strategy.
  • Develop and communicate a clear technical vision for system integration, ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability for future growth.
  • Build automation workflows to support push/pull data processes across business systems
  • Design, develop, and support custom integrations between SaaS platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and secure token-based authentication.
  • Evaluate when out-of-the-box connectors fall short and deliver custom ETL or API-based solutions instead.
  • Define source-of-truth systems and build data synchronization logic that respects ownership, consistency, and governance requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business workflows and translate them into integration specs and data flow diagrams.
  • Contribute to projects involving SQL schema planning for integrations, including redundancy, replication, or transformation between systems.
  • Partner with CloudOps, Business Systems, and Security to ensure integrations align with AWS architecture, IAM roles, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, CJIS).
  • Maintain documentation of integration processes, configurations, workflows, and system mappings.

Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience with systems integration, data engineering, or cloud application architecture.
  • Proven experience building custom API integrations between SaaS platforms (not just using prebuilt connectors).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven design, and data exchange between systems.
  • Familiarity with tools and concepts like:
  • ETL workflows
  • REST APIs, JSON/XML, middleware
  • SQL databases and schema planning
  • Identity/auth (OAuth2, tokens, API key management)
  • Ability to analyze and communicate data flow, ownership, and system boundaries.
  • Comfortable using scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation or transformation tasks.
  • Experience designing integrations for cloud-hosted environments (AWS preferred).
  • Business Acumen: Understanding business processes and how different systems support them.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with CIAM platforms (e.g., Okta, Auth0).
  • Familiarity with container-based platforms (Docker, ECS).
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures (e.g., SQS).
  • Exposure to compliance-aligned environments (SOC 2, CJIS, NIST).

The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job function. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned.

At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are Canadian or U.S. citizens or permanent residents due to employment authorization requirements. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship or work authorization support for this position.
