OVERVIEW
As Instacart has grown, so too has our Payroll team! We are seeking a Program Manager with strong program management and communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and clients. We’re looking for candidates who have a high tolerance for ambiguity, strong empathy, and an ability to operate autonomously while building trust and producing results.
ABOUT THE JOB
Responsible for projects and programs related to all payroll operations and reporting initiatives, and ensure completeness and accuracy is maintained
Prepare and execute on project plans, keeping stakeholders aligned
Acting as the project manager for payroll projects on a global scale by building project plans, establishing key relationships with internal and external partners, and executing against the project plan
Defining requirements and configuration options for payroll, time reporting and financial interfaces
Supporting activities related to the Workday system functionality, including but not limited to testing of technology updates and working with People Technology on system configurations to meet regulatory requirements, process improvements etc.
Leading and driving Global Payroll system related projects and initiatives
Providing subject matter expertise on other system configuration and initiatives as they relate to payroll business processes
Partnering with internal organizations to influence payroll service design and delivery to achieve business objectives
Ensure payroll compliance to regulatory and internal policy
Continuously driving improvements, automation, communication, and education to increase quality, improve employee experience, and enable rapid scaling
Managing relationships with third party vendors for payroll administration
Aiding the Payroll team in issue resolution by researching problems, answering inquiries regarding payroll transactions, and providing guidance and training to team members on payroll concepts and issues
ABOUT YOU
Knowledge of payroll concepts with an understanding of payroll regulations and governmental reporting requirements in the US and Canada
Advanced analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Experience turning data into actionable information
Comfortable dealing with ambiguous and complex work situations and multiple stakeholders
Leadership skills and desire to coach and develop others
Communication and results-driven skill
Stakeholder management and influencing skills
Commitment to working together as one team, exceeding service expectations by developing positive relationships and treating others with value and respect
Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
5+ years of experience in US payroll
3+ years of experience with Workday Payroll
1+ years of experience with ADP products (ADP EV5, Workforce Now, SmartCompliance)
Experience with project managing tools (JIRA Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
CPP (US), PCP or CPM (Canada) payroll certification
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
Zendesk Experience
Canada payroll experience
