Location: DMV Area (Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia)

Job Summary

The Service Sales Specialist will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by closing accounts and sales opportunities within the Federal government sector. This individual will leverage deep knowledge of software services and solutions to design tailored offerings, build strong client relationships, and support the full sales cycle. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with consultative selling experience and a strong understanding of the Federal procurement landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company’s software services and solutions to effectively position offerings to Federal clients.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Federal agencies, nurturing leads through the sales funnel.

  • Build consultative relationships with key stakeholders, including procurement officers and C-level decision-makers.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to design customized solutions that meet client-specific needs and compliance requirements..

  • Stay informed on Federal market trends, procurement cycles, and agency priorities to inform sales strategies.

  • Provide client feedback to internal teams to support product development and service enhancements.

  • Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline health, and performance against revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 7–10 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in software services, Federal government contracting, or consultative selling.

  • Proven success in closing complex deals and managing long sales cycles.

  • Familiarity with Federal procurement processes and contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA, IDIQ, BPA).

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Security clearance (Secret or higher) is a plus but not required.

Preferred Skills

  • Technical sales or sales engineering experience

  • CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA)

  • Experience with software solutions such as cloud services, cybersecurity, or enterprise platforms

Salary:

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is$200,000to$250,000USD annually with a60%/40%(salary/incentive) mix. There are additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonuses and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
