Greenwood Project

A non-profit organization that creates career pathways in the financial services industry for high-achieving Black and Latino college students through rigorous training and internships.

About Greenwood Project

We are the Greenwood Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to propelling Black and Latino college students into high-trajectory careers in financial services. Founded in 2016 by Bevon and Elois Joseph, our mission is to introduce academically talented students from underrepresented backgrounds to the financial industry, providing them with the social capital, technical training, and career access they need to succeed. Our name honors the legacy of the prosperous Greenwood community in Tulsa, Oklahoma, also known as 'Black Wall Street,' which was destroyed in 1921. We carry this torch by building a new generation of financial leaders who will create wealth and economic mobility for themselves and their communities.

Our approach is rigorous and comprehensive. We don't just offer internships; we provide a multi-year learning journey that equips scholars with the skills, networks, and confidence to compete at the highest levels. Through our FinTech, Investment, and Financial Institutes, we offer intensive training in areas like coding, financial modeling, and market analysis. We partner with over 50 leading financial firms to place our scholars in paid internships that often lead to full-time offers. We are proud to say that over 70% of our scholars transition into full-time roles in the industry, earning starting salaries significantly higher than the national average for their demographic. We are committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that there is no lack of talent, only a lack of opportunity.
