What began in 2001 as a vision to improve access to healthcare in America has evolved into a leading health insurance marketplace and a Medicare-focused digital health company. Founded by Clint Jones and Brandon Cruz, GoHealth, originally known as Norvax, Inc., started its journey by creating websites and lead management software for insurance brokers. The company's trajectory shifted in 2008 when it began offering online health insurance comparison shopping, and a year later, it was rebranded as GoHealth. A significant milestone came in 2012 when GoHealth secured a $50 million investment from Norwest Equity Partners, fueling its expansion and innovation. This was followed by a pivotal moment in 2013 when the federal government appointed GoHealth to enroll eligible Americans in subsidized health plans under the Affordable Care Act. This was a testament to the company's growing influence and capabilities, especially as it successfully navigated the initial technical challenges of the HealthCare.gov launch, utilizing its call centers to assist thousands of Americans.

As the healthcare landscape continued to change, so did GoHealth's focus. In 2016, the company strategically pivoted towards the Medicare market, a move that would define its future growth. This focus on the senior population was further solidified with the development of its proprietary PlanFit technology, which leverages machine learning algorithms and nearly two decades of insurance purchasing data to provide consumers with customized, data-driven assessments of their Medicare coverage options. In July 2020, GoHealth took another major step by going public on the NASDAQ stock exchange. This event marked a new chapter of growth and transparency for the company. In 2022, Vijay Kotte was appointed as the new CEO to lead GoHealth into its next phase of value creation, with the co-founders, Clint Jones and Brandon Cruz, transitioning to Non-Executive Chairmen of the Board.
