Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Risk Operations Analyst to join the team!

Trust is an integral part of GoFundMe's business. It drives growth, builds and nurtures our brand, and ensures that we always do the right thing by our customers. The Risk, Compliance, Platform Integrity team is at the front line of GoFundMe’s efforts to protect donors, fundraiser organizers, beneficiaries, and our company from financial crimes and abuse. As a member of the Risk team, you will be responsible for analyzing fundraiser and donation trends to create reporting and rulesets for action by your fellow teammates. You will also be required to complete post-mortem analyses of accounts where necessary and follow up with the relevant key team members and present data to make adjustments to reports and workflows.

The Job...

  • Conduct weekly Post Mortems to identify root cause issues and discover loss trends and risk themes
  • Conduct gap analysis to find opportunities for operational improvement and root cause determination
  • Run monthly and quarterly ruleset governance analysis on all PSPs and provide recommendations on rule improvement
  • Conduct discovery and phase-based execution of each project with clear benchmarks and goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis to leadership around losses and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure all lead generation reports that are used by RCPI Analysts are fully optimized with minimal false positives and consistent iteration
  • Find opportunities for QA and deliver feedback to the team
  • Present rule change recommendation to leadership for approval
  • Complete weekly informational emails to department and leadership
  • Assist the team in workflows during times of high volume or low staffing

You...

  • 2-5 years experience working in the payments industry and knowledge about merchant processing behaviors.
  • Proficient understanding of Looker, Excel, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of global customer due diligence, AML, CTF, sanctions, beneficial ownership requirements, Know Your Customer standards, and how these apply for a merchant and the wider financial ecosystem.
  • Passionate about staying current on regulatory changes, industry guidance, and card scheme compliance.
  • Open to feedback and self-critical in your ideas.
  • Strong business acumen with a data-driven and customer-centric attitude.
  • Work well with a distributed global workforce and confidently maintain communication while working autonomously in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Fast learner, with initiative and follow through without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong performer, able to meet deadlines while balancing different priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Inquisitive with a solution-oriented mentality.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $70,000-$95,000 + equity + benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
