The purpose of this job is to manage a technical operations team while also assisting with the data processing. The team provides technical operations in batch cycle processing, monitoring, error remediation, and production release deployment. The manager ensures the successful operations of the batch cycles and production releases and assists in proper escalation and remediation of issues encountered.

What you will do:

• Manage team members performing batch cycle execution for daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc processing of Empower's Plan Accounting system.
• Ensure any errors within the translation system process or it's up streams and down streams are properly escalated and follow through with tracking until remediated.
• Assist team as needed for troubleshooting and any cycle reruns.
• Facilitate communications with other partner teams, including any upstream and downstream system teams, and with Director, Delivery Lead and Technical Leads for additional tiers of support.
• Works with Kanban Leader or Scrum Master and Delivery Lead on stories needed for the team's operations and improvements.
• Advise and assist in system reviews for designing process and efficiency improvements.
• Manage periodic production releases to deploy new features, enhancements, and fixes.
• Works with the broader Tech App Dev team for strategic and tactical system improvements.

What you will bring:

• Batchelor's Degree of Computer Science or related field (Information systems, Mathematics, Software Engineering)
• Experience on AWS platforms preferably with exposure to S3, lambda, step functions, and Athena or Redshift.
• Knowledge of ETL job execution methods, with some capability of SQL or other query execution.
• Understanding of data flow designs and models
• Proficiency in Python, ETL methodologies, SQL and Big Data solutions is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to Data Warehouse principles.
• Collaborates with colleagues regarding batch cycle best practices and/or data application issues.
• Advises on data strategies for options to mitigate and/or alleviate core data application issues, including opportunities for additional process automation.
• Manages individual contributors as they operate according to established routine for cycle executions.
• Completes other assignments as needed to assist the Director and other managers and leads on the broader team.
