We are seeking an Acquisitions Editorial Assistant to support our Research Reference team, focusing on revised editions. The successful candidate will support Acquisitions Editors in revising commercially successful titles, in both print and electronic formats, across a range of subject areas. Key activities in the role include researching subject areas and identifying growing topics of interest; identifying previously published editions with the potential to be revised in a new edition; communicating with authors/editors to develop a revision plan for new editions; and connecting with customers to understand their product needs and communicating this to authors/editors.

You will begin the role within the Research Reference Energy team, shadowing Acquisitions Editors on their latest book projects.

Responsibilities
- Research market trends and identify commercially successful titles with the potential to be revised in a new edition to create a list of revisable book titles.
- Assist Acquisitions Editors to commission revision book projects.
- Use data and analytic tools to evaluate a variety of different markets and subject areas.
- Engage with customers through survey data and reviewer feedback to develop an understanding of customer needs from our products.
- Communicate with authors and editors to ensure revision plans align with customer feedback and Elsevier’s product requirements.
- Follow best practices for embedding D&I commitments across new book projects and product planning.
Requirements
- A passion for science education and communication and a commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.
- Ability to adapt communication style and methods of interacting with customers.
- Familiarity with standard MS office tools, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and a willingness to learn new systems and software quickly.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in various stages of completion, with excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and teamwork skills.
