About our Team

The Account Support Department provides support to the sales force and Academic, Government and Corporate customers. Your team will be supporting electronic products, journal publications and databases within Elsevier. The Team is a part of the Global Sales Effectiveness & Services organization within Research Solutions Sales. The organization serves both the Research Solutions business globally and the Health Sciences business outside the United States

About the Role

As the Renewals & Contracting Specialist, you'll collaborate with cross-functional with sales, the legal department, and finance. Your primary responsibilities involve finalizing subscription contracts and serving as the main point of contact for customers regarding contract terms. At the conclusion of each contract term, you will work closely with customers to promptly renew their contracts. Your role will also entail executing the contracting and renewal processes to ensure timely completion of renewals.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the point of contact for your customers in everything related to their contracts with Elsevier. This includes the renewal of their contract terms.
  • Working with our customers to validate purchase history, usage statistics and identify opportunities. Maximizing the value of their content subscription.
  • Leading discussions and coordinate efforts with cross-functional teams to construct complex contracts for our largest deals.
  • Ensuring that our contracts are compliant with our policies, and that they also cover the needs of our customers.
  • Establishing an in-depth understanding of our business models, contracting terms and our products.
  • Working in close collaboration with sales teams to build plans to achieve our renewal targets.

Requirements

  • Have a secondary, accredited Education or equivalent direct experience in a Customer Service or Sales process support function.
  • Be fluent in English as well as Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Display exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Be a self-starter who anticipates business needs and takes initiative.
  • Have effective organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office productivity suite, especially Excel.
  • Have prior experience in the use of Salesforce.com and Outreach are highly valued.
