About our Team

We are a software engineering team and a part of Elsevier’s Health Market Search which maintains Clinical Solutions Search Platform and supports the search/browse features of Clinical Key.

Clinical Key is a clinical search engine that gives healthcare providers access to a comprehensive collection of medical, surgical, and nursing content. It is built on a search technology that uses the most advanced techniques to deliver the fastest, most clinically relevant answers. Clinical Key is a platform supporting several different products.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer III, you will be working on the design, development, and quality testing of the software development assignments for the Data Monitor web application. You will partner with cross-functional technical teams to deliver successful projects in an Agile environment. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end ownership, ensuring the implementation of customer-centric software solutions while maintaining strict adherence to security, vulnerability, GDPR compliance, and other relevant standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
  • Train and mentor junior software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.
  • Mentor less senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 Years of Experience with Java 8 and above.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework (web/ws/mvc/security/data/test).
  • Experience with SOAP/REST Webservices.
  • Experience with Search indexes (Solr/Elastic)
  • Experience with App servers (tomcat, JBoss).
  • Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub/GitLab.
  • Experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform.
  • Experience with SQL (JPA, Hibernate, complex SQL query).
  • Project level leadership and Object-Oriented design methodology experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly responsible
  • Unit Testing using Mock concepts
  • Must be a faster learner and multi-tasker
