Summer Internship: Testing Intern

To support the Phase 2 development of its global experience database, CredsBank, Dentons is currently recruiting a global CredsBank testing intern from June to September. This position will report to the Global Business Services Senior Manager with main stakeholder groups being the Global CredsBank Project Implementation team and key Clients and Markets business stakeholders worldwide.

The global CredsBank testing intern will be responsible for executing an effective testing process for development work following developer unit testing, documenting outcomes of testing, and providing support to the Project Implementation Team to gain sign off for the development to be released into production.

The role will also support the development of demos, training materials, and other communications to the business.about the enhancements and user acceptability testing. As time permits, the role will have an opportunity to support other Clients & Markets related data and analysis initiatives.

CredsBank is the single-source global infrastructure relied on by Dentons world-wide to capture, approve and share lawyer experience. Phase 2 is designed to enable a more efficient submissions process for proposals, directories and league tables to enhance Dentons brand and market position which is core to Dentons strategy.

The quality and efficacy of the development process is critical to enabling the Project Implementation team to meet its ambitious target delivery dates. This role is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious summer student or recent graduate to put theory into practice while gaining invaluable experience working alongside experienced clients and markets and business technology colleagues on the Phase 2 design and development of a large complex international project.

Key Deliverables

Working with the Global Business Services Senior Manager and Global Marketing Operations Manager:

1. Execution of end to end testing process catering for testing of new functionality and bug fixes to the CredsBank solution, to include appropriate governance of process which must be fully documented.

2. Successful testing of development work while ensuring compliance and security of the data at all times, demonstrating the solution meets business requirements.

3. Input into the design of testing outcome scripts, to include recording repeatable scenarios and capture of knowledge base.

4. Contribute to discussions on the design and development of enhancements and release cycles.

5. Support the development of demos, training materials and other communications to the business about the enhancements and user acceptability testing.

6. As time permits, the role will have an opportunity to support other Clients & Markets related data and analysis initiatives.

7. Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• To execute an efficient, well documented testing process to enable new development/bug fixes to be comprehensively tested and any issues identified and understood so they can be reproduced and communicated to the developers for troubleshooting and resolution before being released into production.
• To identify and script repeatable scenarios to ensure testing is consistent, comprehensive and as efficient as possible.
• To validate testing approach and completeness with the Global Business Services Senior Manager to ensure testing evidences that the solution being provided meets the business need.
• As appropriate, and as advised by the Global Business Services Senior Manager, to work with Dentons CredsBank identified key stakeholders and pilot users to guide their own testing and respond to feedback from that community, liaising with the Project Implementation team as appropriate.

• Solutions orientated with the ability to address problems by gathering relevant information to adequately assess the full impact of the problem, and then plan multiple scenarios to define how to evidence that the problem has been solved.
• Ability to work with technical developers to understand the technical approach to problem resolution, and with business stakeholders to understand and explain the fixes that have been applied, how they have been tested and the benefits.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• Experience working with Law Firms/Professional Service firms
• Experience working in a fast moving, agile, software delivery environment
• Experience creating/working with a structured testing process, collaborating with others
• Experienced creating testing documentation, including process, test scenarios and outcomes as well as training materials and support for users
• Microsoft tools expertise, to include Office, in particular Excel
• MS Azure Cloud Infrastructure; in particular DevOps
